Friday Fours

How is it already Friday?! This week has flown by and it makes me sad knowing that there are just a few more left until move out. As excited as I am for summer, there are so many hurdles to cross before I can even think about things other than school. I have some fun things planned for the summer and I can't wait to share them with you when I have them all locked down. We are also in the process of signing our lease for our senior year house which is pretty crazy to be thinking about! Here's a step into my week:

::one::

Although the weather fluctuates from 30 degrees to 70 degrees from one day to the next, it is finally starting to look like spring here in Bloomington. How gorgeous is this tree in our front yard?!

::two::
I've been getting over a pretty bad cold and have been trying to speed it up by eating tons of fruits and veggies. I can't wait to eat this many pretty, colorful foods this summer! Does anyone else have a Pinterest board dedicated to food to make over the summer, or is that just me...

::three::
Did you see that Target launched their line with Hunter? Even though our store was definitely more kidswear focused, it was still fun to see what they all came out with. I haven't bought anything yet but am considering  a fun jacket like this,  a bold pair of slides or  this pretty umbrella!

::four::
 I don't know what it has been about this year but I just feel so out of a routine lately. Since I end class by 10:45 on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have most of the day to do whatever I need to. As nice as this is, I miss having a specific schedule with designated chunks of time to study, workout, etc. That's just a big part of college I guess! In the next 2 weeks I just really need to buckle down and get everything checked off my to-do list.

This weekend is our huge Little 500 bike race (women's on Friday and men's on Saturday) and I can't wait to watch our team race! Delta Gamma won what's called "quals" (the qualifying sprint race a few weeks ago), so we can't wait to go cheer on our amazing bike team.
I hope you have a productive + fun weekend!

Friday Fours

Happy Friday! After this week's absolutely crazy weather changes (68 degrees one day, 25 and snowing the next), I'm excited to hopefully have a warmer weekend ahead. I have a bunch of projects I need to check off my to-do list and look forward to sleeping in and spending time with my friends.

::one::

Last weekend was weird because all of my friends in my sorority except 3 went home for Easter, so as you can imagine, the house was super quiet! It was pretty nice having the house to ourselves. On Easter, my friend Leslie and I went to the cutest church and then out for brunch after.

::two::

How amazing is this bruschetta bar?! I wish I could eat like this every day. I've been trying to be more conscious of what foods I'm putting in my body on a daily basis and have to say, I feel so much better when I'm eating cleaner (shocker, right?!).

::three::
Since the weather's been so back and forth, I've been wearing my joggers a fair amount! I used to never wear them out of the house, but they're just too comfy to not wear to class sometimes. I think they look so cute with a casual look like a white tee and jean jacket.

::four::
It's insane to think that I have just about a month left before I move home for the summer. While I am sooo ready to be done with classes, I'm not ready to live far away from my best friends! I can't wait to live the last few weeks to the fullest.

Have a great weekend!

Friday Fours

Happy Friday! I've been so refreshed this week after having my mom here last weekend and have gotten so much done. We also had an awesome speaker come to my retail class yesterday and it was just the extra motivation I needed to power through the rest of the week.

::one::

We had the cutest Black & White dinner on Wednesday with our littles, but since the weather was gross here's a picture from our Big Little Reveal a few weeks ago! It was Friends themed and it was super fun designing the apparel for it. Meet my cutie little Maeve!!

::two::
I've been trying to expand my horizons when it comes to study spaces because I always find myself just ending up at the library since it's close to my house. Lately I've been going to our media school which has this huuge screen with tons of different news channels - it's such a productive environment and it's amazing how much more I can get done there!

::three::
The weather in Bloomington is so incredibly all over the place it's insane. Earlier this week it was 70 degrees and sunny, and then yesterday was a literal monsoon and 40 degrees. I'll take it though if it means we can get away with just wearing a tee in February!

::four::
This weekend is packed with events for initiation (including an amazing catered brunch that I'm already dreaming about), but I also have to get a lot done before we leave for spring break in a week. I have my Calc midterm on Tuesday which I'm already panicking about, so hopefully I can get most of that studying done this weekend!

What are you up to this weekend?

Friday Fours

Was it just me, or were you insanely tired this week? It seems like everything I've been hearing from my friends and seen on social media is all related to being overly tired these past few days. I've really been trying to drink less coffee, but this week was a bit too long to resist :)

::one::
Did you catch  my post this week about avoiding getting sick during flu season? I've seen so many people trying Medicine Balls from Starbucks like I mentioned and highly recommend you go order one too. I'm drinking one as I write this and seriously can't get enough!

::two::
I was addicted to watching Sex and the City at the end of last semester and over winter break, but for some reason I haven't picked it back up yet this semester. One night this week I watched an episode and got seriously hooked again. I'm almost done with the whole thing and never want it to end! The only thing getting me through is the fact that there's a few movies that continue the story. I'm curious if any of you guys are as addicted as I am!

::three::
Last night we had two awesome speakers (who are also IU alumni!) come talk for the Retail Studies Organization, a club I'm involved in. They both work for the shoe industry and it was so interesting hearing their thoughts about retail and where it's going in the future.

::four::
The weather has seriously been so hit or miss lately. One day I was wearing just a sweatshirt and then yesterday I could barely survive the short walk to the library in a huge parka and hat. Regardless of Indiana's random weather, there have been some pretty amazing sunsets like this one that make living here so worth the ever-changing weather.

I hope you all had productive weeks and have fun, relaxing weekends ahead! Tonight we are heading to Indianapolis for the night for one of my best friend's birthdays. She's from Chicago and needs her Portillo's fix - they just opened one in Indy!

Friday Fours

Happy Friday! I don't know what it is, but these past 3 weeks of classes have been going by so slowly. Last semester I was always super busy and easily fell into a routine where the days flew by, and this semester has been quite the opposite. Even though I definitely have been busy, every day seems to be different and therefore goes by a little slower than I'm used to. I'm not complaining, but it's just a weird change from previous semesters that have flown by!

::one::

My mom surprised me with  this sweater for Christmas after I had tried it on during Thanksgiving Break. At first I was nervous I wouldn't get a ton of wear out of it, but I've been wearing it almost like a robe lately! When I run downstairs in my pajamas for eggs every morning, I throw it on and it makes me so happy and cozy. Highly recommend if you're in the market for a cozy splurge.

::two::
 On weekends my friends and I have gotten more adventurous with our study spots and have ventured to coffee shops around campus instead of the library. One of my favorites is called Inkwell and not only has the best food but also is the most aesthetically pleasing little place I've ever seen in Bloomington. I got this egg, avocado, cheese and bacon sandwich for lunch last week and cannot stop thinking about it :)

::three::
Yesterday I wanted to spend some time outside because it was super sunny and actually kind of warm for once, so I walked to downtown Bloomington and did a little window shopping at Urban Outfitters. They honestly have the cutest little things for your room - go check it out if you haven't been in stores lately!

 ::four::
My roomies and I have been doing a pretty significant cleanse all week. Everything was going great until my friends and I were craving ice cream so badly last night. Needless to say, it was interrupted a bit earlier than intended. My hope for the cleanse was to get my body to crave healthy things rather than unhealthy things, and I think it's starting to work! Updates to come - I think this might finally be a lifestyle change!

Have a great weekend!

Friday Fours

It's been a little bit since my last Friday Fours and luckily I finally have some really fun things to share other than studying for exams!  We came back to school early for sorority recruitment and after 23 round and 16 round, we had our first week of classes. Then last weekend, Sisterhood and Preference round took place leading up to Bid Night this past Tuesday! Even though recruitment is a ton of "girl flirting", long days and nights with little sleep, it was so incredibly worth it to have the most amazing new member class to welcome to our chapter. Not to mention, my own member class got so much closer and bonded even more with the older girls since we were basically locked in the house for days on end. Here's a peek into the last crazy busy week :)

::one::
Our color scheme for preference round was champagne, which was actually kind of fun because we had a lot of freedom with different shades we could wear. It was so exciting getting to have deep conversations with potential new delta gammas!
::two::
 For Bid Night, a bunch of girls made the most delicious donut wall that I really cannot stop thinking about. Pretty sure I've eaten my body weight in both the ones on the wall and the leftovers. #NewYearDiet

::three::
One of the activities we do the week of bid night is to do a canvas painting party with all of the new girls. It's such a fun way to meet new people and do something creative. My roomies and I painted a few that night for our future littles too!

::four::
If you're familiar with IU at all, then you've probable heard the infamous 'This is Indiana" song. Our theme for Bid Night was crimson and cream but "This is Delta Gamma" instead! Two of my best friends planned the entire thing and they seriously made it such an incredible night. Since I'm the new apparel chair, I also got to design the sweatshirts and beanies we gave all of the babies and then the similar version we made for my MC too. It was my first official project and I had so much fun with it.

How was your week? I'm so jealous of people who are just moving back to school this weekend!

Friday Fours

It feels like it has been forever since I've posted last (probably because it has been forever... oops!). Life has been absolutely crazy between finals, clubs, new leadership positions, my sorority, etc that I have had negative time to even think about blogging which honestly makes me so sad. Blogging is one of my absolute favorite things to do and I can't wait until all of this craziness is over so I can really focus on it again. It will probably be a few more days until things finally start to calm down, but when that happens, expect lots of new content! Here's what I've been up to these past few days:

::one::
If you're curious what my life has looked like lately, this pretty much sums it up. If I counted up the hours I've been at the library in the past week, it would definitely add up to be way more than my time spent anywhere else, including my time sleeping (wow that's depressing). I had to write a 100 page paper on jean jackets for my retail class final, and I don't think I really left the library for about 5 days leading up to the due date! Now that that's out of the way, I have 4 more finals next week and then I'm home free for winter break!

::two::
 The holiday shopping season is in full blast and I could not be more excited for a few different secret santa exchanges with friends and shopping for presents for my family as well. I will hopefully crank out another gift guide or two before Christmas - let me know if there's any specific ones you're wanting to see!

::three::
We decorated our room for Christmas right after Thanksgiving break and coming home to some cute festivities every day is one of my favorite things about living in a sorority house. Today we're switching rooms for next semester and as excited as I am to move into a triple with two of my good friends, I'm so sad to not be in my four girl anymore!

::four::
I could not be more excited to go home, omg. This semester has flew by in the blink of an eye, yet I am so exhausted from everything I've done and can't wait for a little refresh before we come back for next semester. Not to mention, we have recruitment starting January 2 and we will be getting a new member class of girls! It's all so exciting, and I look forward to having a break before the craziness of next semester begins.

I hope the rest of your semesters wrap up well and you have a productive next few weeks!

Friday Fours

Another busy/stressful/productive week in the books! I had a mini panic attack Tuesday because my computer died and wouldn't charge for two days (even after trying 3 different chargers and outlets). After some research and pressing a few buttons, I somehow figured it out without having to trek to the computer store (a minor miracle). On another note, I can already tell I'm starting to get sick, so I can't wait to take it easy this weekend and work ahead on some homework (#nerdalert). Anyway, here's a peek into my past week!

::one::
Barn dance last Friday night was such a blast! My friends and I all brought dates that are good friends so we all had a really fun time getting to know each other and dressing up in country themed outfits. The venue was absolutely gorgeous with tons of twinkly lights and a banner perfect for pictures. The lighting sadly wasn't working in my favor, so here's a picture of some of my friends and I before we went to the venue :)
::two::
Did you catch  my outfit I posted on Monday? I'm in love with  this necklace and highly recommend it if you're looking for one with tassels. I had been looking for one similar to this for so long and I couldn't believe my luck when I finally found one in such a great variety of colors.

 ::three::
Our Retail Studies Organization hosted our huge Fall Retail & Design Forum on Tuesday night and it honestly made me so inspired for a career in the fashion industry. The highlight was definitely hearing the founder (an IU alum!) of College Fashionista talk about her experience growing her blog into what it is today.

::four::
Campus has been absolutely beautiful lately. I definitely think it's the prettiest during fall with all of the leaves and pretty mums (in c&s colors of course). The weather was perfect until this week when it randomly dropped to 35 degrees - can we go back to 55 degrees and sunny please?!

My favorite finds from this week:

I hope you have a great weekend!
My friends and I are planning to get dressed up and go to a cute dinner tonight, and then pretty much lounge around the rest of the weekend to prepare for the busy week ahead.
What are you up to?

Friday Fours

In all honesty, I'm shocked I made it through this week! (Well, through Tuesday at least!) Last weekend was homecoming, so we had a ton of events going on all last week through Saturday. It was our first year celebrating homecoming while in Delta Gamma so it was really exciting having themed events to dress up for. However, if we're being honest, it was hard to truly enjoy it all because I knew I had two big exams and a ton of homework the following week. I'm the type of person that needs to go into a busy week with lots of sleep and preparation, so having a ton to do the weekend before definitely made me a little crazy haha. Luckily, I was able to study a lot that weekend and I think I managed to do well on both exams early this week! I'm so glad they're over and can finally breathe because we have a super fun weekend coming up and I know it's going to fly by.

::one::
Tonight, we have our annual barn dance at an actual barn a little bit off campus and I'm so excited to get dressed up in a fun costume for the night! A bunch of my friends and I are taking some guys who are all friends so it should be a really fun night. Expect some pictures up on the blog next week :)

::two::
Now that my schedule has calmed down a bit after all my exams, I have really made a strong effort to workout every day and eat a lot healthier. I'm always tempted to stress eat (especially in a sorority house with lots of dessert always accessible!), so it's been a challenge to say the least! But, I've gotten in a good habit of running 3 miles a day, lifting weights and just generally getting in more steps every day. So far, I honestly feel better! It's crazy how a few little changes can totally change your mindset and mood.

::three::
With lots of homework and exams comes the need for caffeine, so lattes (pumpkin spice especially, #duh) have been my go-to. It's insane that I had never even tried coffee until I came to college, and now I drink multiple cups a week! I'm still super picky and only drink really sweet lattes, but they're essential to surviving the week. Have you guys tried the Awake caffeinated chocolate bars? I had one the night before my law exam in addition to a big cup of coffee and I can't tell if it helped or not. I'm curious to hear your thoughts below!

::four::
Another thing I'm working on? Getting better sleep each night. I brought my eye mask back with me after fall break and I think it really does help, especially in the morning when the light is blaring in the window right next to my head. I was having a bit of trouble sleeping through the night because I was really stressed about some of my classes, but recently I've been sleeping like a baby. I live with 3 other girls and I don't even hear them come in or out of the room anymore!

Some of my favorite finds of the week:

As if barn dance wasn't fall themed enough, my friends and I are going to brunch at the cutest cafe Saturday morning for pumpkin pancakes! I can't wait to enjoy the beautiful weather and time with some of my friends that aren't in my sorority.

Also - I think I'm going to put together a post with all of my favorite fall purchases so far this season. Would you guys be interested in seeing that?

I hope you all have a great weekend!
xoxo

Friday Fours

Cheers to surviving another week everyone! Before I jump into my usual Friday post, I wanted to talk about a new thing I'm adding to my weekly post. After reading over your thoughts and recommendations from  the survey I posted last week, I thought I would mix up my Friday Fours a bit and add my "Friday Finds" to the end of the post! I want to make sure you're loving what you're reading, and I think this addition will help to keep things fresh and interesting. I hope you enjoy it!

::one::
My friends and I had such a fun time at Dads Weekend last week! Even though it was pretty much a million degrees the entire time, it was super fun bringing my dad to a darty (aka day party at a fraternity!), tailgate and football game. We were able to do a little grocery shopping to stock up on some food for my room which was super nice, and we went to some awesome new-to-me restaurants too! Overall it was a blast spending time with my friends and all of our dads.

::two::

After what has seemed like endless days of 90 degree weather, it has finally cooled down for a bit here in Bloomington! I never realize how much of a struggle it is living in a warmer climate until September hits, but now that October is so close, I'm hoping the cooler weather is here to stay.

::three::
I have fiiinally found a way to balance healthy eating, working out and occasionally treating myself this week. I've been really trying to take advantage of the fresh salad bar and fruit that we have and honestly, it makes me feel a lot better to eat it than the carb-loaded main courses like pasta and pizza. In addition to eating, I've been prioritizing working out by scheduling it into my day. I'm trying a spinning class this morning and hopefully a class at Orange Theory some time this weekend. And when I'm busy during the week, an hour or so at the gym is a perfect pick-me-up!

::four::
My ~sisters~ and I have been spending a lot of time on our front patio lately, and it really makes me stop and enjoy my day more than I would normally. Things get so busy running around all day long, and it's great coming home to sit outside with my friends and talking about our day.

FRIDAY FINDS:

Have a great weekend!
