Outfit: Professional With a Pop of Orange

Behold my outfit for Day 1 of the Smart Girl's Group conference! I really enjoy dressing slightly business casual but still fun and bright, and I think this skirt accomplishes that, especially for an event like this one. If I were going to a more professional event, I would swap the chambray for a gingham button down and add a blazer, but I knew chambray would be perfect for the summer. I tied the button down in a knot for a little more detail as well as added a statement necklace to glitz it up a bit. And to add even a little more embellishment, I wore my new sandals from Target that were seriously one of the best purchases ever. They were under $30 and are great quality for the price. Definitely check your local store because I couldn't find them online!

How do you personalize a more business casual outfit to fit your personality?

  4. As a student teacher, I'm always looking for fun ways to add my personality to my professional wardrobe! Fun colors and prints are a must, in fact I'm investing in tons of fun printed palazzo pants from Lilly Pulitzer to wear as I intern in the fall :)
