My #LillyForTarget Purchases

Yesterday was probably one of the most fun, stressful and exhilarating days of my life. I had been waiting for this Lilly Pulitzer for Target launch day for months, and I was so thrilled to see the merchandise I'd been seeing in pictures for so long! Everyone's experiences sound pretty crazy (Lilly girls really are dedicated, haha), so I thought I would share mine with you as well as what I ended up purchasing!

I started by going to bed at 10 pm on Saturday night (the ACT really did me in, ugh) and set alarms for 11, 12, 1 and 2 to check to see when the collection would launch. When it finally went up around 2:30 am Central time, the entire site crashed right when I added a few items to my bag. A half an hour later when it was fixed, everything was sold out, including the items in my bag. Quite frustrated, I went to bed so I could wake up early and head across town to get to the Target store. Running on 4 hours of sleep, my friends and I were first in line and sprinted in right seconds after the doors were unlocked. I even knocked over my poor friend Liza and she ended up falling flat on her face, but I didn't quite notice because I was already too far into the store (sorry buddy!!). There were probably under thirty women in the store, but everything was gone in about 10 minutes. I grabbed every piece I could find in my size, sprinted to the home area, followed by the beauty and accessories. The whole experience was kind of a blur but I just remember lots of women with shopping carts full of crazy amounts of merchandise. After trying on all the clothes I grabbed and decided which items to buy, we went to the check out and ended up going to two other locations nearby.

As crazy as the entire shopping experience was, all of the customers were so, so nice to each other. I helped one lady find the beauty area, another offered me a pair of shorts that she didn't want, and we all chatted about how excited we were in the checkout area. It truly was like the hunger games, but in a much more friendly environment :)

Now onto what I ended up buying! As a disclaimer, I'm not doing this at all to brag about what I bought or anything of that nature - I just enjoy seeing what everyone scooped up and I thought you might too! I originally was going to show shots of what I bought up close, but since seeing it on an actual body is way more helpful for reference, I decided to take pictures of me wearing everything instead.

This was a piece I had to see in person to get a feel for the fabric and structure, but I'm really pleased with how it is in real life! It's definitely a thinner material, but it fits true to size and will be super fun with white jeans this summer.

I had no idea this pillow was made of outdoor material, but it was too cute not to buy. It's bigger than I expected and I'm so excited to put it in my dorm in the future!

When I first looked through the lookbook, I knew I had to have this pair of shorts. For only $24, they're so bold and fun, not to mention way cheaper than a pair of actual Lilly shorts! When I tried them on in the store, they were super comfortable, true to size while still being a little roomy and I knew I would get a ton of wear out of them.

I would not consider myself a "headband person", but after wearing this gold beauty nearly all Sunday, I am so glad I took the plunge and bought it. Not only does it not fall off your head, but it doesn't give you headaches like you would expect this style to.

For $5, you really can't go wrong with a set of these elastic hair ties. I haven't seen many of this type of hair elastic that is under $5 for 5, so I quickly justified grabbing a pair when I was at the store. They're definitely cuter in person than they appear online!

The first thing I grabbed when I got to the clothing section of the store was this shift. I thought it was a rumor that stores would only have one size of each dress, but apparently it was true because I grabbed the only 6 there. I'm usually a 2 or 4 in Lilly dresses, but for this shift I sized up and it fits perfectly, not to mention it's a little short on me and the larger size adds a little bit of length.

I originally wasn't planning on buying a cosmetic bag, but when I saw this one in person, I couldn't resist. The pattern is so bright and it's the perfect size for either a roomy pencil case or a travel makeup bag.

After practically living in my hot pink maxi dress last summer, I knew buying one from this collection would be a great idea, especially because of how unique and "Lilly Pulitzer" looking it is. If you are able to, I suggest buying a size up because my friends and I all thought it ran a bit tight in the waist, although I ended up getting my normal size and it's not too bad. I can't wait to wear this to the lake, pool and beach this summer!

I will admit I went a bit crazy, but I know I'll get tons of wear out of everything I purchased. Plus it is so much cheaper than stocking up on this much of the actual brand! I'm so excited about everything I snagged and will definitely be taking a loong shopping break for a while :)

Now I'm dying to know: what was your experience like?! Did you stock up on anything fun?
xoxo

  1. I was unable to go to Target yesterday morning because I had to work, but I wasn't planning on going anyway because I knew it would be crazy there! I checked the website when I got home from work, and everything I could have possibly wanted was sold out. I'm hoping that everything will be restocked soon because I'm dying to get some pieces!

  2. I love that button down and the adorable headband! You got some great pieces! My sister and I found some really cute things as well- we both loved that we could fit in the kids shift dresses, such a great deal! I fell in love with the scarves so snatched two and also ordered the navy patterned espadrilles online, can't wait until they come in the mail!

Great post! Check out my finds on my blog at: http://3oakind.blogspot.com/2015/04/lilly-for-target-success.html

  3. Love all of your purchases! I think my favorite item is the maxi, although I'm in love with that pillow. I bought a 6 in the upstream shift, but I think you're a bit smaller than me so now I'm a little nervous that it won't fit. Wish me luck!

  4. Great picks, girl!! They all look s'cute! I didn't buy as much as I had originally planned, so I'm just putting that towards splurging on a piece or two from Lilly's new summer line. :)

  5. Love your picks! I sadly did not get anything since I went to Target in the afternoon and my store was completely sold out! I have my grandparents on the lookout at their local Target but if not, I'll just buy some summer Lilly!
