I don't know about you, but this week seemed to absolutely fly by! One minute it was Tuesday and I was wishing it was Friday, and then all of a sudden I was sitting in my 8 am Finite class this morning realizing I wouldn't have to wake up early until Tuesday. Time really does go by quickly in college - it's freaky to think I already have exams coming up!
Obviously I knew academics were a main part of college coming into it (I sound like I don't have my priorities straight, haha), but I guess I didn't realize the extent of how much time I would be putting in to my studies on a daily basis. When you see things about college in movies, on social media or from friends, you hear a lot about all the fun things to do with friends or what you can get involved in like greek life, clubs, etc. But what people don't tell you is that to stay on track, you really have to crank out a lot of work every day. It stinks because this semester I will be having a Finite quiz every Friday morning at 8 am, so I won't be able to go out with friends on Thursday nights like a lot of other people do. For someone who needs a lot of sleep to function, though, I guess this isn't the end of the world. I guess it's all about balance right?!
With three 8 ams during the week, I've come to realize that looking put together every day just isn't going to happen. When I was packing for school, I was stressing out that I didn't have enough "normal school clothes" as I had had a uniform for 6 years. Luckily, most people here wear Nike shorts and oversized tees every day, so I can finally get use out of my somewhat embarrassingly ginormous t-shirt collection that is only continuing to grow by the week :)
My roomie (hi Caroline!) and I went to the clubs fair on Monday and checked out the 750+ organizations that are available for us to join. A bit overwhelmed, we each signed up for a few that stood out to us and are so excited to get involved. One of my favorites has to be CHAARG, a women's workout group that makes exercising and living healthy fun. There are several different workouts every week and we'll have opportunities like going hiking at a nearby lake, doing the color run and going with everyone to the local Farmer's Market!
Did you catch my closet tour I posted this week? I'm so happy with how it turned out and would love to hear how you organized yours too. I still can't get over how adorable my customized prints turned out. Be sure to visit A Mint Macaroon to check out all the pretty prints she has + to see how you can personalize your own! I have a few more that I'll be sharing during my desk tour coming in the next few weeks.
I'm so excited to catch up on sleep, get ahead on work and head to a big soccer game tonight.
Have a great long weekend everyone!
