4th of July Recap

This year I had such a fun and relaxing 4th of July. I was lucky enough to be able to sleep in (after a late night driving home from Door County with friends) and then went to the parade I've been going to since I was a baby with two of my best friends. After walking around (and getting root beer floats and red, white and blue bagels, obvi), I rushed home to quickly pack for the lake. Fran and I headed to my family's lake house where we lounged by the water for the afternoon before having a super yummy barbecue. My uncle made an amazing salad (I'll try to get the recipe to share with you all!) with homemade dressing and then my mom made a drumstick torte which is like a giant frozen drumstick ice cream cone in a pan. Needless to say, we indulged in some delicious goodies! Then we went to my friend's house next door and watched fireworks with his family and it was the best end to a fun night! I'm so happy we've been able to continue traditions like going to the parade and the lake for so many years and since this is my last 4th of July before college, I made sure to cherish every minute.

I hope you all had amazing weekends and 4th of July's!
Here's to an awesome rest of the summer!
Next week I'll be back into my normal posting schedule :)
xoxo
