J.Crew Spring/ Summer 2016 Collection

images via: one / two / three / four / five

Whenever I see pictures by J.Crew - whether they be on Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, their blog, etc. - I'm always instantly inspired to refresh my wardrobe. They have a way of creating bright, simple and crisp look that never goes out of style, and always catches my eye every season. However, as a high school student saving for college, I only very rarely splurge on their pieces, unless it's something on the sale rack. Instead of dropping $150 on a button down or a trendy pant, I use J.Crew as style inspiration and find similar pieces at less expensive stores. Don't get me wrong, I think J.Crew is an excellent place to find staples like navy blazers or quilted vests, but I can't always seem to justify spending $90 on a sweater that is likely to be "in" for only a few months. That being said, I'm in love with several of the looks they have for this upcoming season, especially all the seersucker, stripes and gingham! (The navy + white gingham shoes especially kill me... ugh). Popsugar is oh so accurate when they say that "J.Crew will fulfill your wildest preppy dreams" for Spring 2016!

I'm currently compiling a list of pieces from J.Crew that I love and then am going to hunt down similar, less expensive alternatives. Be on the look out for that post soon!

Are you obsessed with their new line too?
Happy Monday!
xoxo

  1. I've been eyeing these gingham flats - they may be enough to satisfy the navy + white gingham craving for spring :) http://us.asos.com/ASOS-LATE-NIGHT-Pointed-Ballet-Flats/18o4jt/?iid=6119592&istCompanyId=467dd896-9a62-42c2-84d9-be2d13921f66&istItemId=qlimlqaap&istBid=t&transaction_id=1029c068e716dbeedac384c6060e21&affid=10607&pubref=1023&r=2&mporgp=L1Byb2Qv

  2. I have to agree, and then totally agree with this post! Sorry! Thrifting is MY life and J Crew Is a huge inspiration,, However,, they Always have sales going in. Most of their shirting isn't over $79, and usually 30% off. Then..the Sale rack!! Such great deals And Then usually 30-50% off the markdown. All of these points make Classic pieces actually Very affordable. You have a solid blog and I wouldn't want your readers to count J Crew out!
