A Grateful Heart

One type of post that I don't write often is one under the lifestyle category. I try to only focus on positive and uplifting things on my blog (ie. quick workouts, great shoes for fall, delicious lemon cookie recipe, etc.), and even though this isn't my normal kind of post, I think talking about a deeper idea like being grateful is necessary once and a while, don't you? While it is easy to only post about clothing or fitness all the time, it's nice to expand my horizons and have a different sort of post so you guys don't think I only care about materialistic things (which I promise, I definitely don't!).

Something I've been trying to do everyday is think about everything I'm grateful for. Whether it be my supportive family and friends, my education, food and clean water, or even the ability to blog, I really try to never take anything for granted. When I'm in a bad mood because of a low grade or a rude comment, I try my best not to let it control my entire day. A helpful way to do this is by listing everything you are grateful for in your head, or even in a notebook. It'll help you realize that the positives definitely outweigh the negatives and that you are actually way more fortunate than you might think. In addition to this, I try to think about what I'm grateful for when I wake up or before I go to sleep at night. It's amazing how doing such a simple little exercise can really impact your mood and even your day!

And of course, I couldn't finish this post without mentioning how grateful I am for all of you! You have no idea how much your comments, likes and kind words mean to me, and how happy I am I decided to start blogging a little over 2 years ago. You guys make my day every single day and I am so thankful for each and every one of you!
xoxo

  1. You are so darling. I love this post and you are so right. When things get tough we should look on the brighter side of things and think about everything that we should be grateful for. This is really so sweet and shows what a sweetheart you are!

Congrats on over two years of blogging as well!

  2. Great post - it's hard to look on the brighter side of things but it's so important. I should try to keep a little journal to write in every night.
