What is Your Hair Routine?

A while ago my blogger friends and I were having a discussion on what our hair routines are and more specifically, how often we wash or use heat on our hair. It's such a popular topic and it varies so much for each girl, which can be frustrating or simply interesting to hear everyone's opinions!

Personally, my hair is super moody. In the summer I hate using heat on it because I'm afraid I'm going to do too much damage to it, but it lasts days without getting greasy. In the winter it gets oily so quickly that I have to wash it every day or every other day. I normally blow dry my hair after I wash it and occasionally straighten it in the morning if I have time. The one thing that annoys me the most is that in the colder months so much static builds up - every time I touch even a strand of my hair the whole thing puffs up! If anyone has any helpful ideas on this topic, please comment below!

I thought this would be a fun topic to discuss since every girl can relate so please, comment below and let's get the conversation going!

  1. I always love hearing about other peoples hair routine - because mine is so simple! I have ridiculously curly hair so I only wash my hair twice a week (that sounds disgusting but that's the fate of curly hair) - frizz ease products are literally my saviour to tame my curls!

  2. I have to wash my hair every day too otherwise it gets greasy which is a bit of a pain but I just do it without thinking. Also, I play a lot of sports so I feel gross if I don't wash it.

  4. I have a similar problem with my hair frizzing easily- especially in the winter! My trick to keep my curls from going flat and frizzy in dry weather is I comb it in the shower and scrunch it with moroccan oil once I get out. I then let it air dry for about 1/2 an hour before I scrunch some mousse into in. Then while I'm getting ready I run hot water so my bathroom/bedroom are humid. The humidity helps to get my curls to come out! Then before I go I spray a little hair spray in to make sure the curls stay.

Definitely a lot more work than in the summer when I usually "wash and go" but I try to avoid heat styling as much as possible :)

  5. I usually just wash mine and then use heat on it once or twice a week, if the frizz gets to it, buns and french braids are the perfect way to pull it off haha. And maybe its the type of brush you use, what kind do you use? But I love the winter months, for my hair type its the only time it stays perfectly straight! lol

  6. Great topic!! My BEST friend?!: Dove dry shampoo!!! It's just $2-3 a can at Target and makes my hair smell and feel great! It took me a long time to get out of the everyday wash routine, but now I'm washing only twice a week! AND>> I invested in a set of hot rollers (in an adorable Pink case!) from Ulta ($29) this holiday...Can I tell you!? ALSO amazing! the curls last for days!!

  7. I usually wash mine every day. When I have time in the morning, I love to give my hair a loose curl! RedKen Smooth Down Heat Glide is my favorite heat protectant!

  8. I was mine every 3 or so days. To combat static in the winter I usually put hand cream on and rub some lightly onto my hair. Works for me!

  9. No matter the weather/season, I have to wash my hair every day. I really don't use heat on my hair because I've done so much damage to it before & had to get it cut off! I either let it air dry (naturally wavy hair) or put texturizing spray in it and curl it with my fingers. I use Not Your Mother's Beach Babe texturizing spray & I love it!

  10. Running a dryer sheet over the ends of your hair can cut down on static and they're really inexpensive!
