Weekend Recap

It's been a hot minute but I'm so glad to be back! Life gets so unexpectedly crazy in college - one week is slow with lots of free time and the next there's not even enough time to eat a relaxed dinner. Blogging grounds me so much and I really do love it, but obviously homework and things with hard deadlines have to come first sometimes (as sad as that is to type!). I want to start this week off on a productive note (and I finally got some fresh inspiration for some posts) so here we go!

This past weekend was not only Mom's Weekend for DG, but also my 20th birthday weekend! These past two years Mom's Weekend has fallen on my birthday, and it's so fun having my mom here for it. It was pouring rain most of the time but we had so much fun together.

On Saturday we took a road trip to Indianapolis to go shopping at Keystone Mall - an absolutely gorgeous mall with tons of great stores. I've been dying for some retail therapy and it was refreshing to be off campus for a while. G and I love shopping together so it was the perfect way to spend our day.

Then after the mall we drove to  Cake Bake Shop - literally the most beautiful place I've ever been in a really long time. There are so many hidden gems in Indiana and this was definitely one of them. I can't even describe how beautiful it was so I think I might dedicate a full post to it. I got a slice of the raspberry champagne cake in the top right and let's just say I was beyond content. That night I went to our hotel and ate it while taking a bubble bath!

It was amazing getting some fresh inspiration while shopping this weekend. I get so cooped up in the grove of school that sometimes I forget there's an outside world! I was really in need of some new spring looks to inspire me, and this trip really helped my creative state of mind.

On Sunday morning, my mom took 3 of my friends and I to brunch at the cutest cafe in Bloomington. It was actually nice enough to eat outside which was the best surprise. I'm so glad we could all spend time with my mom together on my actual birthday in the beautiful weather. After that, I came home to my sorority house to the cutest little goodies from my friends. It was such a great day and I'm so grateful to have the sweetest people in my life to make my day so fun!

I hope you all have a great start to your week! My roomies and I are going on an infamous #cleanse before spring break - wish us luck!
xoxo
