4 Podcasts To Listen To

I used to always be confused about what podcasts were exactly... I'm a huge fan of watching Youtube videos because of the visual aspect of seeing what's going on, so I didn't understand how it could be interesting to just listen to someone talk. After I started my internship, though, I realized that I needed some background noise that wasn't just my country playlist on Spotify (it's 4 hours long though, so I'm set for half of the work day!). Someone recommended the podcast called Serial and although I was apprehensive about listening to such a long and detailed case, I decided to give it a try. Oh. My. Goodness. To say I (along with every intern in my office) became addicted would be quite the understatement. We all listened to it at the same time and got so into discussing it during our lunch break. After finishing that one, I decided podcasts are going to be my new thing. Every day at work, I'll listen to a few episodes of one series and then play a playlist on Spotify, then switch back to some podcasts. It's nice to have something interesting to listen to while I work on Excel spreadsheets or monitor social media!

Alright, now onto my favorites that you need to listen to!

+ Serial
I don't want to give it all away, but basically a high school girl went missing in 1999 and while the story behind it seems to make sense, many people believe it didn't happen exactly how everyone thought. A journalist digs deep into the case and interviews nearly every person involved in the story years later. And coincidentally, there's a new trial for the case that's going on right now! I'm so interested to see what happens with it all.

+ #GirlBoss Radio
If you need an afternoon pick-me-up and some #girltalk motivation, this podcast is definitely for you. I love listening to it after lunch when I'm a little tired because they instantly lift my mood and make me feel super productive. Not to mention if you love the #GirlBoss book or series on Netflix, you'll for sure enjoy these because the author, Sophia Amoruso, is the one speaking! Sophia interviews a different #GirlBoss each time with topics ranging from launching a business to finances to health.

+ Criminal
I have to listen to these in small chunks because they start to mess with your head after a while... But if you're into crime stories and murder mysteries, I definitely recommend Criminal. I tend to skip around and find ones that interest me because some are a little too dark, but overall these are really interesting episodes.

+ Modern Love
I actually haven't started this one yet, but I've heard such great things about it and plan to try it out this week. Carly talked about it in one of her posts and it really peaked my interest. Let me know if you've listened to it and your thoughts on it!

Now I'm really curious to know - do you listen to podcasts?
Do you have any recommendations for me?
xoxo

  2. I love podcasts, but usually don't listen to them as often because they just make me even more tired. But I'm really loving your suggestions! Didn't you know #Girlboss has a podcast!
