Happy Friday! I didn't do anything too exciting this week so today's Friday Fours are all pictures from my trip to Door County last weekend. My dad and I ended up staying through Monday because the weather was so nice and it was seriously the perfect little getaway right here in Wisconsin.
My dad and I wanted a fun little place for breakfast so when Fran recommended the Singing Donut, I knew I had to try it out! It's tucked away in the cutest part of Fish Creek (one of the towns that makes up Door County) and you can customize your own donuts. You start with a base and then choose a glaze and toppings - I went with a vanilla glaze with lemon zest and then vanilla glaze with rainbow sprinkles! My dad had chocolate with graham cracker crumble and loved his too.
One of the days was really cloudy and rainy so we definitely took advantage of our time when it was sunny. How cute are these mopeds we saw along the yacht club?!
After exploring some different restaurants, we settled on the most darling one called Wild Tomato for dinner on our last night. Despite the wait that was over an hour, we feasted on grilled veggies with hummus, a basil pizza, salmon salad and a side of mac and cheese. It's so fun to share a few different dishes, especially at such a fresh and delicious restaurant! Highly recommend eating there if you're ever in DC!
I've never been to Martha's Vineyard or Cape Cod, but people call Door County the MV of the Midwest and I would have to agree! It's the perfect place for a quick weekend trip and it was a nice little place to unwind for a weekend of relaxation. I love going on little trips like these and can't wait to head on a day trip to Chicago tomorrow with my mom and brother for some shopping before college!
Have a great weekend everyone!
I am SO excited for a 3 day college collaboration I'm doing next week so come back Monday for some dorm fun!
