5 Things to Spring Clean

I don't know what got into me, but yesterday I was randomly really motivated to clean everything in my sight. From my cubby in our mud room to my desk to my bathroom, I got rid of old junk, wiped off surfaces and felt so much better after! Cleaning gives me so much joy (#nerdalert) and the feeling you get after is so worth the time it takes to reorganize. Now that school is almost over for real, I'll have tons of time on my hands and I'm determined to clean everything from head to toe. Below are 5 things I think are really important to spring clean (and they aren't all things you would automatically think of!).

+ Bathroom Counter
For some reason, my bathroom counter always seems to collect a lot of clutter. Every week I try to take everything off, throw things out, wipe down the counter and rearrange all my products. Having a clean countertop is so essential for a productive morning and I think it really sets the mood for the rest of the day!

+ Computer Desktop
Nothing feels better than getting rid of a big chunk of storage on your computer, so go through all your files and delete everything you possibly can. I always transfer a lot of photos to an external hard drive so that my laptop is cleaner and runs smoother.

+ Backpack
Like my bathroom counter, my backpack gathers a lot of junk over a few months. Papers, gum wrappers and extra pens always seem to clutter up pockets, so throw away anything you absolutely don't need. Going through binders and folders never hurts either!

+ iPhone
Go through messages, emails, photos and apps to clear up storage. You'd be surprised how much faster your phone will work when you delete old stuff! I also love changing my screensavers to something a little more fresh and bright (sometimes a quote is fun too).

+ Closet or Dresser
Probably the biggest and most important part to spring clean is your closet or dresser (or wherever you store your clothes). With the changing seasons, it's crucial to move winter stuff out and spring and summer stuff in. Do a few loads of laundry, donate or throw away things you no longer need and re-fold everything neatly in your drawers or shelves.

Happy cleaning!
Have you done any spring organization yet?
xoxo
