If you're like me, then you're constantly counting down the days until something you're excited about. Right now, it's the moment Spring Break is finally here and instead of stressing about school, I can soak up some sun. Most times, however, it's the weekend, a party or plans with friends. Either way, I have found myself constantly rushing through hours of the day with just this one event on my mind, not paying enough attention to the things happening around me in the present. I read an article that was in my Facebook feed the other day (I think it deserves a whole post at some point!) about enjoying the remaining weeks of senior year, and it really hit me.
As I'm rushing through days and weeks in anticipation of an event, they seem to fly by, and not in a good way. Now that I only have 62 days left (!!!) until I'm done with high school, I realized something. Any normally boring moment in school or routinely drive home from school should not be taken for granted because in reality, I only have a few left before I'm thrown into a completely different environment. Instead of rushing home right after school, I'll stay a few extra minutes to chat with friends, drive a little slower on the way home and take note of my surroundings. This way, I'll get more meaning out of each day and won't be constantly hurrying through everything.
And this is applicable to anyone, whether you're a senior or not! Instead of counting down the days, hours and minutes to something, really try to be present in your life and enjoy everything around you. Not only will you find you have more time in your day, but you'll also appreciate the little things in your life a lot more.
I hope this little inspiration serves as motivation for your Monday!
Have a great week!
xoxo

I love that you're smart enough to appreciate the moment! I'm a senior in college and I too feel as though I'm rushing toward the next thing. Take advantage of every little moment because you'll be onto something new in no time!
