November Recap

After blogging for 4 years now, I've come to realize the instant happiness writing daily posts gives me, but also how looking back and seeing how I've grown as a person (and a writer!) from my beginning days as a little freshman is something even more meaningful. Since it is senior year and I'm feeling all sorts of nostalgic (please tell me I'm not alone), I decided that it would be fun to start a monthly series recapping what all happened during the month. Whether it be favorite products, fun events, memories with friends or simply a happy thought, these are the things I want to be able to come back to years in the future (and I think they'll be fun for you to read too!). I always try to do monthly favorites posts, but I honestly stick to a lot of the same products month to month and wouldn't have many new things to share. So, I thought a recap would be the perfect combination of all of these things!

Last weekend one of my good friends invited me to her service club ball at a fun venue downtown. The tradition is that when you're a freshman in college, you come home during Thanksgiving break and are officially inducted into society (and get to wear huge white gowns of course). It was such an amazing night and it was so great to see all of my friends who are now in college!

I'm so proud of my adorable friend Lauren for being the Leader of the Ball at the event! She had the most service hours (over 675!!) so she was honored at the beginning. How cute are she and her sister Claire?!

We got our Christmas tree last weekend and it's my favorite tradition to go right after Thanksgiving and transition into the holiday spirit. Going through and hanging up all the ornaments is so much fun, especially while you're jammin to Christmas music!

Another highlight was my final college trips which ended with an awesome trip to Chicago. Even though I don't know if I would ever end up living there, I love staying overnight in Chicago and shopping up and down Michigan Avenue. My dad and I discovered a new favorite lunch spot and it's safe to say they have the best salmon caesar salad I've ever had!

This first post was less favorites and more personal than this series might be in the future, but I thought it would be a fun way to kick it off. As a blogger, I think it's important to share a bit of my personal life with you in addition to my other "blog life" so I thought this series would be a way to do that. I hope you will enjoy it!

What were your highlights from November?
