{M&B} Recipe: Peppermint Fudge

The holiday season is my favorite time of the year for many reasons, but one of the most important is because of the delicious food it brings! Gingerbread, pumpkin and eggnog are a few of the best, although peppermint has to be my #1. So for the collaboration, Fran and I wanted to cook up a dessert with lots of peppermint, and naturally we chose to make a delicious fudge!

We went into this recipe not knowing how it would turn out with so few ingredients, but it ended up being ah-mazing - we can't believe how easy it was to make!  Here is what we did:

All you need is:

2 bags of semi-sweet chocolate chips
14 ounces of sweetened, condensed milk
Candy canes (we used mini)
(Add a bit of peppermint oil for a little extra flavor)

Pour the bags of chocolate chips into a pot on low heat and slowly stir in the sweetened condensed milk. We were worried the bottom layer would burn, so we added a tiny bit of canola oil to loosen it up for stirring.

When it is mixed all the way, it should be this consistency.

After removing the pot from the stove, quickly transfer the fudge into a pan with tinfoil (make sure to spray it with cooking spray too!).

Flatten it out evenly with a spoon. Do this quickly before it starts to harden.

Crush candy canes in a bag...

...and sprinkle them on top! If we could do it again, we might have drizzled white chocolate or added marshmallows for extra texture.

Put your pan in the refrigerator or freezer and let it sit for an hour or two.

Take out the pan, cut the fudge and enjoy! Couldn't you kill for a piece of this right now?!

Check out yesterday's outfit if you missed it and be sure to fill out this form to receive a holiday postcard from me and Fran! They're going quickly so sign up now!

Are you a fan of peppermint fudge?
xoxo
