{M&B} My Favorite Holiday Traditions

Happy Friday! For the second-last post of the Merry & Bright Collaboration, Fran and I thought we would both share some of our favorite holiday traditions with you. It's no secret that the holiday season is one of my favorite times of the year, and for me, it's the traditions that make it even more special.

This year has been a little different since my Great Aunt passed away in May and Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve were always at her house ever since I was born. I'm not going to lie: the change hasn't been easy on me or my family, but it's definitely going to be a transition year to start new traditions as relatives pass away and new cousins are born.

One of my favorite traditions, however, is receiving a pair of pajamas on Christmas Eve so my brother and I have a new set to wake up in the next morning. Last year we got matching J.Crew navy onesies (actually the most comfortable thing in the world) and we still continue to wear them throughout the year. We've done this ever since I was little and even as we get older, my brother and I love opening up one present on Christmas Eve (especially when they match - although he may beg to differ!).

Another favorite is on Christmas morning after my mom, dad, brother and I open gifts and sit down for brunch. My mom makes an ah-mazing french toast casserole (a recipe post may be necessary!) and I look forward to eating it all year long. Of course, no brunch is complete without a giant fruit salad and large glasses of orange juice. A little citrus on Christmas never hurts, right? :)

Be sure to check out Frannie's traditions right here!
What are your favorite holiday traditions?
Have a great weekend!
xoxo

  1. So sorry to hear about your great aunt. My grandfather passed away the Friday before Thanksgiving, I understand the sadness of them not being around during the holidays.

  3. So sad to hear about your Aunt, we'll keep you and your family in our prayers this holiday season. I love how you guys are sharing family traditions, with a new little one this year we can't wait to start our own! Also, where are those zebra PJs from, I've got someone on my Christmas list they would be perfect for :).
