Healthy Things to Do Throughout the Day

During the holidays and the end of the year in particular, it's easy to throw your healthy habits out the window and say you're going to change your ways come January 1 at midnight. Buuut, it'll be easier to transition into healthier ways in the new year if you start doing a few things each day that hydrate your body and keep you moving. Below I've broken down some good habits to get into every few hours of the day to ensure better overall wellness!

8 am:
When you wake up, sip on a giant glass of water to fill you up and get your body moving. Also, eat a small snack to jump start your metabolism and give you a boost of energy to start the day.

9 am:
Do a little stretching while you shower or get ready to wake up your muscles.

10 am:
Refill your water bottle and sip on it throughout the morning to prevent feeling hungry before lunch. Have a small snack full of fiber if you're hungry.

12 pm:
If you have the time, get moving and go for a walk, bike ride or do a few squats to get your body moving, especially if you are sitting a lot throughout the day.

2 pm:
After lunch, make sure you're moving again and take a quick walk with a friend or a stroll around the neighborhood with your dog. This can also help you think more clearly if you're at work or school!

3 pm:
Have a light snack to keep you tied over between lunch and dinner. Something a little sweet would help prevent overindulging later in on in the night.

8 pm:
Brush your teeth while doing some squats, leg lifts and lunges. You'll do a bit of toning as well as give yourself minty breath, preventing late night snacking (we all know that feeling ;).

9 pm:
If you're lounging around watching tv, do a quick workout routine like this one during commercial breaks. Don't forget to drink your water!

Remember to stay hydrated and get lots of sleep this week :)
