How to Wear An All Neutral Outfit

 one // two // three // four

Wearing an all neutral look is so chic and classic looking, but every time I try to accomplish it, I end up feeling really bland and unexciting. Here are a few of my tips that I've gathered through perusing Pinterest (follow me here!) that are helpful to keep in mind next time you want to wear an all neutral outfit.

+ Play with textures
The touch of fur on Olivia Palermo brings a fun, unexpected element to her otherwise monochromatic outfit. Adding a simple fur piece makes it a bit more eye catching and polished.

+ Add some height
Wearing a pair of heels or a chunky bootie will create a more elegant neutral look, rather than like you're trying too hard!

+ Wear a camel coat
All of these looks above have a camel coat or sweater - it's the perfect investment piece that looks expensive and really put together, especially when you are donning other neutrals like gray, black or white.

+ Throw on a scarf
To tie it all together and accessorize a bit, try adding a scarf to complete the ensemble. It creates a "bundled up" chic sort of look that is perfect for colder weather!

+ Try black or white pants
A pair of black or white pants are a staple to have in your wardrobe, and they're perfect to style with other neutrals. White jeans and black leather pants are both great choices because they add an unexpected touch.

Below I've curated a few neutral pieces I'd love to add to my wardrobe - which one could you see yourself wearing?

  1. I loved this! Ralph Lauren has a wonderful neutral collection, too.

  2. As a student teacher, I try to keep my wardrobe pretty neutral (it makes it so easy to re-wear pieces without anyone noticing!), these are great tips to help me play with my neutrals even more :)
