Importance of Vitamin C

This past weekend, I was home sick for three days with a really bad cold. What I originally thought was allergies (I'm super allergic to ragweed and apparently there was an all time high where I live) ended up being a usual cold that left me with a headache, sore throat, congestion and overall fatigue. I seem to be getting more and more sick lately, and I don't think my lack of sleep has been helping! My whole life I've needed a lot of sleep, so the stresses of first semester senior year college applications and work loads force me to get less sleep, and therefore make me sick more often. To make sure I don't get sick as frequently this year, I've been brainstorming things to implement into my daily routine that would prevent getting colds. One thing I've come back to again and again is more Vitamin C, aka more citrus! (**inset lemon and orange emojis here**)

Although it is not proven, it is widely known that Vitamin C can definitely prevent colds (at least somewhat) and make symptoms disappear a bit quicker. I've been putting Airborne tablets into orange juice and drinking it religiously and I think it has been making a difference! Regardless, I think it would be beneficial to take Airborne every day or so to try to help my immune system and to try to avoid getting sick so much. After all, I can't risk getting sick as often my senior year of high school!

Do you heard of anyone taking Vitamin C daily?

  1. My daily multivitamin has vitamin c in it and I can definitely tell a difference in my immune system when I'm regularly taking that multivitamin than when I don't :)
