What a week... From getting home after a jaunt to the East Coast to nights studying until 1 am to my 2015 lacrosse season starting, you could say this was quite the busy week. It always feels so satisfying going to bed at night knowing you worked so hard that day, don't you think? Anyway, I have 2 weeks of break ahead of me and I am so thrilled to be able to devote more time to blogging! (citrus & style may even be getting a bit of a facelift.... you'll just have to stay tuned!)

As you may already know, last weekend I flew to North Carolina and Virginia for college visits. I toured Wake Forest, Elon and University of Richmond, three absolutely stunning campuses. I could see myself at any of the three schools and really loved what each one had to offer, as similar yet different as they all were. The weather was pretty cold and damp, but I was really excited to be out East and experience what their winters are like (aka shutting down Virginia schools because of two inches of snow... definitely not what us Wisconsinites are used to!). Seeing these schools in addition to the other ones I have toured in the past few months makes me incredibly anxious (in a good and bad way) to start applying and make a decision next year!

I don't think it would have been physically possible to have had any more assessments this week. Writing papers, studying for tests and preparing projects were my nights in a nutshell, but I cranked them all out and ended up being pretty happy with the hard work I put in. It is quite difficult to manage applications, homework, tests and sports junior year, and I definitely feel for all the other juniors (and seniors) out there! We're almost done!

One plus this week has been the unexpected spring like temperatures that hit the Midwest. I was able to drive with all my windows down and wear shorts (outside!) to practice without getting frost bite - amazing, isn't it? Spring is one of my favorite times of the year and I can't wait for all the snow to melt and the weather to stay like this for good.

Packing is one of my favorite things ever (must be my self-diagnosed organizational OCD or something). Whether it's a cosmetic bag, overnight bag, or suitcase for a week, gathering everything I'll need and neatly tucking it away is so fun for me, and I love making every piece perfect. I'm thinking about doing a "how to pack a cosmetic bag" post early next week - would you guys be interested?
That's it for me and I hope you all have a great weekend!
I'm curious to know: when does your Spring Break start? Comment below!

I would definitely read a "how to pack a cosmetic bag" post. Can't wait to see what you do with your layout - maybe do a small tutorial/mood board post?

U of R is a gorgeous campus!! I am graduating from vcu this semester. You would love it here!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool that you have already started to tour colleges your junior year! I only started to look into colleges the summer before my senior year. If you have any questions about the college, I'd be happy to help! I just wrapped it up, recently. Good luck with the rest of junior year!

I love the cosmetics bag that you pictured above, I would love to see how you pack yours!
ReplyDeleteI hope you're planning on visiting some southern schools, I'm not sure what you're planning on studying, but Auburn University has a gorgeous campus and is such a big city with a small town vibe...and great traditions ;)

I loved Elon and Wake Forest when I toured last summer! Did you see that Wake has a Starbucks in their library?
