Outfit: Cold Weather Wear

 coat // leggings // scarf // mittens // boots

This winter, I decided enough was enough and that it was time to invest in a great jacket that could a) keep me warm b) last me several years and c) not look too unfortunately oversized. I searched high and low for the perfect coat and I am so happy that I decided to go with this navy North Face. I'm not going to lie and say it was a great price, but seeing as how I can go outside and not freeze to death and that I know it will last me well through college, I am really satisfied with my purchase! This year in particular I have started thinking about what basics I'll be needing for college, and since I'm 90% sure I'll stay in a climate where there's snow, buying a great jacket and Bean Boots seemed like the perfect investments. Not to mention, they're super handy to have when you live in a place like Wisconsin! We finally got snow this past weekend and I'm so happy to finally be able to pull out my favorite new scarf and mittens. Oh! And if you're in the market for a new pair of leggings, look no further. I've found the perfect pair at a great price (and they're the cutest dark gray!).

Now I'm curious: what winter coat do you live in?
Any other basics you think I should stock up on for college?

  2. Wow! That is really exciting. College is inching its way into being a real and tangible thing for you now, so it makes the best sense to at least be dressed for the occassion, and to have as many options for decisions and/or enrollment dues available. Nice outfit, by the way. Good luck!

  6. I love that coat! I have a toggle coat from ASOS that I'm absolutely obsessed with. It's a bit longer and so warm for the cold Chicago air! I love this coat though too!

  8. You were very smart to invest in a warm coat now! Walking to class in -5 degree temperatures is never fun, but having a warm (and stylish!) coat makes things a little bit better. If you don't have them already, a pair of rain boots is a must, as well as other rain gear (umbrella and even a rain coat). Classes go on rain or shine, so it's best to be prepared for the elements! I have a North Face rain jacket in white and it has honestly been a lifesaver. The weather in Missouri is so unpredictable. If you happen to stumble upon a cute suit at a good price, that might be something to look into. Interviews for internships and other networking events at college will be here before you know it! Let me know if you have any more college related questions!
