5 Ways to Wake Up Happy

I don't know about you, but when it comes to the winter time, it is often so difficult to get out of bed, especially for school. Let's face it: sometimes staying in your cozy bed is so much more appealing than getting up out of bed for the day! Below are 5 of my tips to wake up in a better mood that will inspire you to have a great day.

+ Don't hit snooze
As difficult as it is, don't hit the oh-so-tempting snooze button on your alarm clock. Not only will it make you more stressed about being late, but it will leave you more sleepy the rest of the day.

+ Get some sunshine
Right when you get out of bed, crack open your blinds and take in the bright sunlight. When you see the sun, your body automatically wakes up and signals to start your morning routine.

+ Blast your favorite tunes
Putting on some of your favorite upbeat music will both put you in a better mood and help you stay awake. You'll be too busy dancing to realize that you don't want to get outside.

+ Drink some H20
Hydrating your body is a great way to provide energy for your system and get your blood pumping. When you don't drink enough water, your body has to work harder and feels more tired, so it is perfect to wake you up.

+ Power down before bed
One of the key things to being more awake in the morning is shutting down your electronics earlier the night before. Recently, I've done this myself and have really noticed a difference in the quality of my sleep! Instead of keeping my phone next to my bed, I've been putting it in the room next door and then get it in the morning. It leaves me less tempted to go on it at night and lets me fall asleep easier.

I hope these tips are applicable to your own morning routine and help you wake up happier!

  1. This is Great! I recently started wearing an eye pillow!
I felt a bit ridiculous at first, with that pink satin-y thing on my face, but as someone who has a hard time falling asleep, And staying asleep, the routine of it all helps me wind down!
I also find it acts as an "insulator" for all the good moisturizers I put on before bed!
    Nighty- nite!
