Whenever I make a smoothie, I throw in whatever I have on hand: a banana, some raspberries, a few carrots, etc. Last weekend, however, I came up with the best smoothie yet that had the perfect sweet to savory ratio (and still managed to taste delicious!). It's great for a quick snack before a workout or for breakfast with a side of almonds or eggs.
Here's what you need:
+ 1 ripe banana (brown ones are sometimes better!)
+ A large handful of raspberries
+ A small handful of blueberries
+ About 5 carrots
+ A few chunks of Pineapple (add more for a sweeter taste)
+ A handful of ice
+ A splash of orange juice
And that's it! Blend it all together and you've got yourself the perfect healthy snack. If you're wanting a more desserty smoothie, add a bit of raspberry sorbet to the mix and you have a yummy slushie.
