Staying Healthy On the Go

So far, the only downside I'm finding about traveling is maintaining a healthy lifestyle. It's so easy to resort to eating candy and french fries (my personal weakness, ugh) instead of fruit and vegetables because it's so much more accessible. Besides that, I never want to workout because I want to enjoy every minute of being away. Luckily, I've come up with a few strategies so I thought it would be perfect to share!

First, do your research. Are you a runner? Or do you prefer to swim? Go on Pinterest and find some fun routines to save on your phone. Make sure to mix it up a little so you don't get bored (ie. a little running, a little abs, etc.). I try to do at least one form of physical activity a day, whether it be a long walk on the beach, a run, bike ride or swim.

It is also super important to stay hydrated, especially in a warm climate where you are outside. My bkr bottle came with my everywhere and I filled it up every chance I got. Instead of ordering soda at restaurants, opt for water instead and stick to it. You have no idea how much better you feel after drinking water instead of soda!

While it is important to let yourself eat a bit more unhealthy than usual, make sure to load up on fruits and veggies. I love taking advantage of eating fruits that aren't normally ripe in the Midwest so it's like a special treat!

The last thing (probably my favorite ;) is to purchase a cute piece or two to get you excited to work out. Similar to buying a new swim suit or coverup for your vacation, find a new top or headband to motivate you. Marley Lilly has the most darling monogrammed tennis skirt that I wore constantly on my runs and walks on the beach. (Who said tennis skirts were just for the court?)

Don't forget to stretch!

Order your own skirt right here or check out their other exercise options - you know you need a monogrammed piece or two ;)

That's it for my tips! Do you have any to share?

cYa

  1. I love your monogrammed skirt! I definitely have the same problem when I'm on vacation when it comes to eating healthy. I try to eat as much fruit as possible, especially when I'm in the tropics where it's fresh and delicious :)
